In contrast to what you may think, shutters do not always have to look traditional or classic. They can be designed and manufactured to look sleek, suiting modern spaces such as the two bathrooms shown below made possible in part by using a less traditional material: aluminum. The shutters in all of the images below are aluminum. Putting shutters in a bathroom with specific tilt preferences allows you to maintain privacy without sacrificing style or your view.
Sleek Aluminum Shutters
We just completed Aluminum shutters in an ultra chic, one of a kind architect designed home in Seattle. The shutters are a striking complement to the glass tiles, Puget sound views, and sleek design of this bathroom. For more information on wood or aluminum shutters, which we craft right here in our Redmond factory please call Newport Custom Shutters.

Substantial Exterior Shutters Complete an Outdoor Dining Area
A respected Seattle builder constructed an inviting outdoor entertaining area, but the client needed some privacy from the neighbors. To accommodate this request, we constructed 1-1/2" thick exterior western red cedar shutters which complemented the outdoor area.
Shutters for Hotel Monaco
Hotel Monaco chose Newport Custom Shutters to shutter their hotel. After a client consultation, we decided it would be a great idea to replace the existing small louvered shutters with a larger more contemporary louver size to highlight the spectacular city views of downtown Seattle. The shutters enhance the modern chic vibe of the recently redesigned hotel. It was a pleasure to be a part of this project. Please view the photos below!
