Maneuverability of Shutters

Shutters have a variety of options that allow you to customize how much light is let in by way of tilting the louvers up or down, or hinging them entirely open to see an unobstructed view outside. Tilting the louvers, or individual wood panels down permits privacy while maximizing the light coming through the window. Particularly if you choose a light paint color for your shutters, you will be able to enjoy the light softly reflecting off of the louvers while still maintaining privacy. Louvers can be controlled individually, known as clear view side control, or via classic center tilt rod control.

Alternately, If you wish to have a completely clear view outside, you can fold each shutter entirely out of the way. As a result of their durability, shutters can withstand years of louver and hinge maneuverability and are an excellent choice for window coverings in your home or office.

Specialty Shutters for Unique Windows

Uniquely shaped windows need a creative design solution. Shutters may be that perfect solution. Custom made shutters to suit a raked, arched, or oval window are effective at highlighting the architecture without impeding it. With specialty shapes, a template is made onsite and then brought back to our woodshop in Redmond to be fabricated. Much of the manufacture is done entirely by hand. This produces a truly splendid result that will be enjoyed for years to come. View the gallery below for examples of custom-made shutters for unique windows.

Fulfilling unique need with perfect solution

We were approached by a noted interior designer to design shutters to suit a customer's unique specifications. The request was for shutters with two side controls placed on the outside edges of the shutters rather than the center. The louver size needed to be large to accommodate sweeping areas of glass, however the client preferred the final product to be as streamlined as possible. With this in mind, we fabricated several samples with a distinct louver size to replicate the shutters the customer had in a previous home. One style was approved by the customer, the shutters were crafted in our factory, and carefully installed in the customer's home. The customer and her husband were impressed by the final product and agreed that the shutters exactly replicated what they had before. This is an example of how great design combined with the client's valuable input can produce superb results
